The sense we are experiencing is the type of information being processed to control our perception towards the narrative they wish to manage. It's also a means towards wider surveillance. If it can get any wider 
As far as here and within groups? For all I know this site is a maga surveillance agent towards keeping an eye on us atheist. It's a free site. Who is putting out the money for it to operate? Why would they do so? Remember what we learned from the DNC investigation from Consortium News, the DSA knows everything that goes over the Internet. Someone is watching what goes on here at this site and in each group and post. Only when or if the majority of the population in the US begins to awaken from its slumbering enslavement and the delusional reality they are stuck in will we find ourselves in a mode that of China. Right now the Internet better serves them to monitor in efforts to quell or adjust to manage their illusion over us.
