Yep, I avoid big pharma and try to eat real food.

It's the only way to go

Eating organic is a first choice---- if a person has the money to do that; otherwise we have no idea what Monsanto or Dow product has been sprayed on the vegetables. I had some distant cousins that grew very tall. I attribute this to them eating growth-enhanced meat all their lives, but they died at an early age too- probably for the same reason. I don't know if I am welcome in here, because I am only a quasi vegetarian.

@Diogenes I tend to quasi vegetarian as well, as far as I am concerned you're welcome here. As for Dow and Monsanto, I regret the purchases I've made from them in the past, and have none of their products now. My last former FIL was a chemical engineer for Monsanto. His brother worked for Dow. Indirectly Monsanto put my kids through college. Today I and the kids regard Monsanto as a huge evil corporation.

@HippieChick58 From what I have read, the two chemical companies have created sprays to kill the weeds---- then created seeds that will resist the weed killer- or, a two-time poison. One day I was out with a gardening club. What they were doing was to grind up egg shells and spreading this around potato plants. The bugs ingested this, and no bugs. No purchase of bug poisons, and thus no profit for Dow and Monsanto.

@Diogenes That is perfect. Natural and no profit to the evil corporations.

@HippieChick58 One thing I missed to say. These pesticides kill the beneficial worms and bugs, as well as the harmful ones. A clump of earth without earthworms is not good soil. Dead bees do not pollinate plants.--- The end of all my speeches- LOL

@Diogenes agree 100%.

Absolutely! Whole, preferably organic foods, eaten alone or combined in complementary ways to make them enjoyable. Add in a healthy lifestyle and you have the recipe for a good life.

Absolutely it's the best.

That's very good!

Thank you, have a great lunch.

I'm always amazed that so many people, are afraid to eat foods that are good for them I heard "ewwww Kale!" Monday. But they will blindly take drugs, they have no idea what it is or what it does, just cause a man or woman with a lab coat and stethoscope tells them too.

I never could get the taste of kale, but I do like other things that are good for you.

@Sheannutt not a big Kale fan either, but I won't dismiss it.

@Sheannutt so easy to throw a handful in a smoothie...you won’t even notice it. But don’t overdo on kale, it can tax the liver. ALL leafy greens are really good.

@MissKathleen I do not do smoothies, never could drink them. I rather eat my veggies and fruit.

@Sheannutt smoothies are awesome on a hot day with some ice cubes in there just about any vegetable makes great smoothie

@Stevil I will still pass on them, enjoy!!!

I really like Kale, lightly sauteed or added into a stew at the end. Apparently I'm in the minority; so all the more for me smile001.gif

@Sheannutt then sneak a few chopped kale leaves into anything else...just a few.

@MissKathleen I know there are good for you but I do not like the taste of it.

@Sheannutt your loss my gain today after I finished running I got the jar of moonshine peaches into my ninja along with some ice cubes and fresh strawberries it was better than sex

Yes, correct. I am taking blood pressure pills. Something scary happened yesterday. I hadn't been to the gym in a few days and even taking these pills my BP was astronomical. I got down to the gym for a few hours and my BP went to optimal. There's the answer: doing everything that inhibits good health (getting no exercise), while eating junk food---- or bicycling to the restaurant- or making it a habit of parking at the farthest distance from any door.

Well some people are 'actively living life' like getting a bit of exercise (for both body and mind), looking physically normal- 'and eating kale' and other good food; or they are 'actively wasting their lives', making every day NOT count.

I agree completely!

I do 100%
