For anyone who will have to deal with unsupportive family this Pride month:
Please know that millions of us love and support you, even if you can't see us--we're here. And it WILL get better!
If your family doesn't support you, it is sad to say but, you need to find those that do. It is their loss. My wife and I took in several of our daughter's high school friends who found themselves in that position. It sucks, but it is necessary for your own well-being. Either they will eventually come around or you will be in a better place.
Once upon a time, my mother was supportive. Fast forward and “reborn “, she equates being LGBTQ to someone who likes to drink alcohol. ??
No offense to your mom but I normally find that people tend to be "born again" when they closer to death and had a past history of bad behavior. I find it ridiculous but who am I to question
Happy pride month. If family doesn't support you for who you are (there is a serial killer etc. this of course) move on. Doubt you'll be able to change their minds. Pretty sure that such types are ever types will ever support you anyway. Just moved on down the road. Maybe they will come around some day ma.ybe nor. No sense in beating yourself up over it
