I endeavor to create a balance between being informed about current events and avoiding having the knowledge of those events drive me to the loony bin. There's just so much murder, mayhem and corruption I can take before my dark thoughts drive me to the pit of despair. My coping strategy these days is to limit my time perusing news outlets to once a day, for no more than one hour. What's your strategy . . . Assuming you have one or need one? Am I alone in needing to intervene to prevent myself from having some form of decompensation?
no I hear you.I am feeling the very same way. there seems to be no end to this. Trumps mayhem in Europe.and the children! the kids from Mexico Honduras. God.My strategy is zanex. I know.Im weak
I'm with you. It has definitely affected my mood. In my 70 yrs l have never seen anything like it. It is exhausting. I have cut back myself.
@RobLawrence lt is very troublesome, and hard to believe.
you can take a break but you can't turn away.we must fight this
@squiggy_70 l will vote. That is my power.
I don't have a television. I don't follow the news.
I'd be a nervous wreck if I did. (Which is what they want.)
You do more than I do, and I agree with your friend.
A demoralised working class is an impotent working class. I don't think the Guardian is so great either, unfortunately. But it's better than most.
@Ellatynemouth we are demoralized impotent and now old. we have no way to climb out of this.. if the pull social security or medicare which they are doing Im dead
'Working' class - yes.
We are all human. There is no 'lower' class.
