Is anyone out there as shocked as I am by Trump's behavior at the G7 Conference? His refusal to sign a joint agreement with our long time allies will most likely start a worldwide trade war that will only serve to isolate the U.S. and hurt our economy. To me, Trump's behavior is becoming increasingly erratic. I was glad to see that Senator McCain had the courage to try to assure our allies that the U.S. stands behind our longstanding alliances. I wonder if any other members of Congress will have the courage and integrity to follow McCain's example? This certainly does not bode well for Trump's meeting with North Korea.

Sadly, nothing he does surprises me anymore. There is no level of ignorance this man won't reach for.

Here is a perspective:
45 is shitting on all the US allies, tries to force on to them to accept the lying, manipulative and mafia state of Russia to enter into a circle of countries defined by their affinity and then tries to makes friends with a dick-tator just so he can get a chance at a peace prize.
In the meantime, he gave tons of tax breaks to corporations so that they can weather the storm of a trade war at the expense of the US workers and the poor.
In the end, the tariffs to penalize China account for about $3B while the the same tariffs imposed on Canada an ally amount to $12B.
November can't come fast enough so that the world can finally decide what is the longterm plan to deal with the US of A.

I understand your sentiments but you must realize a couple of things. First, The world remembers the Great Depression not just us. Second, Trump currently holds the advantage over our trading partners, I don't think France, Great Briton and Canada want soup kitchen's again. Third, I also believe Trump supporters do not compare Trump to Hoover.

BTW. If this doesn't work out for Trump, we could the Trump Villa's instead of Hoover Towns.

I haven't seen the news on this, but I'm not surprised. He ran on this, and that is what all the people voted for. He seems intent on making up individual agreements, that don't allow the US to be taken advantage of. I'm not sure which way I lean on this topic. It is hard to say what will happen in the long run with this type of policy. Will the US gain more power at the bargaining table, if the other countries realize we just may not buy their cheap stuff anymore, unless they start allowing our companies that are trying to sell in their countries to not be at disadvantage. I know my company I work for just picked up some new window motor lines for a company in Europe, because they are afraid of exactly what Trump is doing with tariffs and what not. They haven't yet constructed it, but it is the works. So will companies start bringing their business, and setting up shop in the USA, due to the tariffs. It just might be a good thing who knows.
