Well, the current administration is trying to increase low income housing rents to 50% of income instead of 30%
The stated goal is to push people to go get more work and more well paid work. I literally had to read it twice it sounded so stupid.
So if I take money out of your pocket you will be richer for it? WTF
I don't even got how that is a subsidy for a lot of low income people. for full time 10/hr work that is 867 a month in rent.
The metric I have seen for affordable rent is 1/3 monthly salary. That is 578

So a single parent will have to work to pay for rent increase and spend more money for daycare or sitter costing more money, all for $8.00 per hour and less than 30 hours per week. Their children will grow up fine and dandy without parental guidance?
