Relationships are "easy"? Gimme a break...

I read this somewhere, some relationship "expert" saying that healthy relationships should be "easy" -- seriously?? I mean, yes, a healthy relationship shouldn't be filled with unnecessary drama, and both partners should be mature enough to own and manage their own "stuff," not play games or manipulate or point fingers -- but even the best relationships are messy, all have their challenges and bumps in the road and misunderstandings that need to be worked out, and sometimes it's NOT easy... The assumption of a happily-ever-after, problem-free connection is a lot of bull crap, as far as I'm concerned. It's a fantasy that only leads to disappointment.

Even the easy ones take some work.

My last relationship was, for the both of us, relatively easy. BUT, even though we were on the same page in our commonalities and way of seeing the world our personalities were opposite. In 16 years not a single argument but there were times of frustration. For some, yes easy, but I think not for most.

I've actually had a couple that were "easy". Then others ... easy/difficult/strange - all in one !

I've never done relationships well.
