I'm not clear on what your point is. Or the point of the depicted post for that matter. I guess the nice lady paid for the things the kids were stealing. I have mixed feelings about that; on the one hand, they weren't stealing expensive things, just staple items, so probably desperate. On the other hand, they were deprived of a lesson in morality. On the other hand, being black, that lesson was probably going to be ridiculously overdetermined, particularly in the circumstances.

On balance ... if I were "street" enough to accurately judge the situation, then I might have done the same thing.

And why is this the right thing ?
