Too much religion in Government/Politics: Last night, I was on a rant to a friend about the evangelical hate mongers such as Tony Perkins and his ilk at the so called Family Research Council, the hate-filled zealots Ralph Reed and his co-conspirators at the Southern Baptist Convention, et cetera, their ever increasing influence on the Trumpster with his Pence-influenced and manipulated recommendations for the Religious Rights’ pick of political and judicial appointees who are on the record with their propensity to exclude and discriminate, the so called Commission on, and Office of International Religious Freedom—two other facets of OUR government founded in 1998 because of the evangelically pressed/backed so called “Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1998 that was thrust on Congress, and so on, ad nauseum. All that are evangelically bent and twisted in a most discriminatory way. And of course, things have gone from bad to worse in the OIRF with Tony Perkins as Trump’s appointment to head the Commission, free to peddle his discriminatory style officially to the US and the World! I told my friend that it is just these so-called “representatives” of THE PEOPLE (and/or “messengers” as the SBC would have it) that claim to be such GOOD Christians (Christ-like?) that among other things, really make me want to entrench in my agnosticism, if not dive headlong into atheism! I am so damn tired of the discrimination FROM MY OWN GOVERNMENT as an agnostic AND a lesbian AND a woman—-a/k/a One Nation Under Trump—that it makes me want to hate them all and regard with high suspicion ANYONE who professes that they are Christian! Jerry Falwell finally got something right when he said “Trump is a DREAM president for evangelicals!” (See the RightWingWatch.org website). Not only do these people operate on an “exclusionary platform”—as most evangelicals seem want to do, that is, BELIEVE MY WAY, OR ELSE, but their lies and persecution propaganda increasingly stir and inflame the “senses” of the general populace to an alarming degree, as for example, hate crime statistics bear out as seen from on the Southern Poverty Law Center website. These people are not just satisfied participating in, sharing the table with, having a voice in government. NO. They want to take over OUR government. It is no conspiracy theory. Since the 90’s it has been a stated mission on their televised religious programming, at the SBC meetings, starting with the “Christian Coalition” candidates, and also spread via the space satellite they finally got licensed via Colin Powell’s son during GWBush’s administration to broadcast to over half the world (and collect those powerful TAX FREE DOLLARS), that their goal is to take over government first at the local levels then on to the federal government and judiciary. Well folks, look at them now! I’d say they’re succeeding in leaps and bounds! These people and those like them should NOT be OUR lawmakers! They use their brandish their brand of religion a/k/a “family values” and bash all others over the head into submission (while all the while screaming that THEY somehow are/were the REAL victims). They have NO BUSINESS in OUR government, making laws that govern ALL of us! And if Trump is anything, he is the evidence that it doesn’t matter how these people achieve their goals or what kind of person their president is or what he does. To them, the ends justify any means! They are a danger to U.S. ALL.
