It seems to me like human life is on the verge of a complete change. We have taken the right wing capitalist experiment as far as its feasible to go without reintroducing child labour and slavery (although, I am aware both still exist), we play at equality but see massive problems in communist countries. Social democracies like mine seem to have some of the answers but are open to abuse...private entities creaming off public assets. So what would you do? If you were your country's leader, how would you organise the country, your people and its assets?
There are alternatives but capitalism has become almost as pervasive as the air we breathe. Unfortunately I can't imagine any fundamental changes without violence. Those who are winning and their lackeys won't be able to imagine giving up power. True sharing is not a concept they understand. As you can tell; not a big fan of capitalism.
I think that the problems in communists countries are just as bad as in capitalist ones. Not much difference. No matter whether it is capitalist or communist or social democratic, etc, etc, there are always going to be problems. I have lived in three different countries (communists, capitalist and social democratic) and I have found that the Social Democratic one is the best one for everybody, even the rich people who resided there.
Full, inclusive, proper democracy is the best leader.
Agreed...how do we acheive it?
I think it's possible. If we can put rovers on the surface of Mars, it's possible.
I think about how telephone voting is used to register or confirm details on the electoral register. It's ironic, but there's more democracy in X Factor.
Our politicians are lying to us. They don't represent us.
Just while I think on... Union members are often given the choice of voting for subjects and not just representatives.
I believe it can be done. But it would be a threat to the ruling class.
That is a HUGE question! While I confess I couldn't wrap my mind around that, I'm definitely curious to see how other people take up this challenge! Should prove to be deliciously educational..
