New to the site, so apologies if this has already been coming up a lot.

Anyone else wonder why, regarding Team Trump's immigration "policies", we're debating the meaning of Bible passages rather than questioning why anything that particular book has to say should be part of the discussion at all?

Right on! Keep on asking all the relevant questions!

Trump is all about showmanship. (He is not a true believer.) He is trying to appeal to his base, and he just pisses off everyone else *who has a mind and can think for themselves.

Don't quote me, but isn't mythology the study of myths, legends and stories. The bible is a great mythological book not based on facts.

It shouldn't be part of the discussion. The bible is not part of the constitution or mandated by any Congressional laws

What is scary is that there are people who have serious debates about Mythology as if it was actually real and relevant.

You are entirely correct. However the Republicans are basing most if not all of their policies on "Christian values" pointing out that their values arent at all Christian might induce some folks to see through the lies.

It is all misdirection. Smoke and mirrors. You know, the usual.

I really try to let religious folks have their delusions, but so few seem able to keep it to themselves.
