It's something my father used to tell me and i never really understood it as a child but it always made me think. What is reality? What is truth, truth is ever changing. What did he mean by "fail", i know many who seem successful that are not grounded in " reality. I think that was his goal, to make me think thus was mune here as well

If this question is looked at from a psychological and personal view it is a different conversation. Like religious people, I would say everyone is in some form of denial about themselves and their life. Also, like with religion, we all fool ourselves to avoid some painful part of our reality. What I got from this is that we cannot move forward until we accept ourselves and our life circumstances for what they really are. Microscopes bring a deeper (more detailed) reality. When reality isn't excepted you should probably be an A-list actor or a high-level athlete or you'll be broke fast. There is the 'reality without action or change' I think that is more likely than accepting or rejecting. It's like you know how the rigged game works? Then why not get out of it or use your knowledge of the rigged game to make yourself a little happier?

I sometimes fail because I'm really bad at stuff. But, seriously, I don't quite understand the point you're making. The first bit is about how we fail, followed by a chain of failures, and a conclusion that this is why we fail. I think I'm missing your meaning. What is the final failure in the chain? Or is it intended to be cyclical?

Reality is difficult to define. Explain, maybe give an example of what you mean.
