Pictures of what a flash flood really is:
We've been posting about rain in Arizona and how cities cope when it finally comes.
In that vein, here are a couple of flash flood pictures. 'Slide Rock' is a popular day trip destination near Sedona. One of the pictures is on a normal sunny day. The other is during a flash flood. BTW I didn't take either picture.
Check out the small building at the upper right for an idea of scale.

Thanks. I was thinking about looking for one of these videos. I have trouble believing that there are actually people who watch the weather upstream for a chance to go risk their lives playing in dry washes like that.
A while back a set of German tourist hikers disappeared near Lake Powell -- only their guide survived. I'm sure they weren't thrill seeking but after a few years they were found about 60 ft. up the wall of the canyon they were in. People don't realize how easy it is to get in trouble out there.
That was likely the tourists killed in Antelope Canyon. They should not have been allowed to enter the canyon. The person collecting their money should not have allowed them to enter the canyon.
@GeorgeRocheleau -- I'm glad to hear you mention Antelope. That was what I was thinking of. I grew up near there.
