You know btroje I think in many ways we are not only regular people..we are enlightened people..in some ways we are cheated by those in power sitting in ivory towers playing with our future..while vigorously and furiously securing their own.

P.s Judging by your comments & contributions to AGN you are more than regular..cheers have a good evening just to spite them.

I never held much attachments to the holiday. When I was working it was just another day to get hours. I never was in the buying beer and going out on the lake in a boat type. You kinda need money for toys in this town and I never did. I usually just stayed home and drank less likely to get in to trouble that way and there where more cops out.

Hi Affinity... I feel the same about New Years Eve...
I hope your circumstances improve so that you may let your hair down and celebrate what you want, the way you want..and when you want..

@Hitchens yah just feeling a little jaded but I think I might go to my father's condo so she can watch the fireworks. She's one and I think watching her reaction will be better than the fireworks 🙂

@Affinityshadow Hi I took my two little girls to the Circus..they were mesmerized by the show..thats what made it for me...you can enjoy events that you might dread in other circumstances..through their joy...so why not. ?

My girls are 8 and 10 yrs old. They loved it..

Thanks a plenty. it's tempting to fly the flag upside down today. I just hope we can have some more Independence Days.

There are plenty more where they came from..remember..this one might seem a little hollow..but the next ones may well be the best ever...who knows what's around the corner....

I no longer enjoy this holiday. I feel like there is nothing left of the freedom the founders fought so hard for and constructed. To me, it is more like the birthday of a loved one who had died 😟

Not a pleasant day.

Yeah even LAST year did not seem as dark, but then spanky'd only been working on destroying planet earth for just over 6 months.

I feel absolutely sure that you will all losses will be restored...and your sorrows end...courage!
