My teenage niece is recovering from heart surgery. Great news! I unfriended my brother, though, so I don't get the play-by-play and heard the news 2nd hand. Understandably, they posted the great news about her successful procedure and that she's able to finish recovery at home. Fantastic. Then they added, "To all the nonbelievers, this is poof!" Yeah, it was "poof". See, I had to unfriend my brother's account, because I'm just not good at letting things slide. When I heard, I so badly wanted to congratulate them on the news and ask about the procedure. I mean really, a surgeon and highly trained, professional staff loaded this girl into a gurney, somberly wheeled her through the halls to the operating room, where they transferred her to the operating table so they could anesthetize her and monitor vitals while they prayed over her. Pretty sure her life wasn't saved by advancements in theology and if they want to invoke God, maybe they can consider how the girl started life with a congenital heart defect in the 1st place.
If it was 'proof', then she would not have needed surgery. Praying would have been enough.
