I was only six and still remember....then life comes along and took me to Washington DC Smithsonian museum where a replica of the capsule is on display. I was already a EE with masters in electronics when I saw it. You take a peak inside and couldn't fail to notice the crude technology on those panels. Vacum tubes for display counters is the one that caught my attention the most. Do I wonder (like Red Hot Chilly Pepper song says....you know, the Hollywood basement)? Yes I do. On the other hand, how do you manage to keep such secret (if there is) for that long??

I watched it on black and white TV in 1969.
