They'll come up with something that resolves the present anomalies. Then another one will crop up. Back around 1900 Michaelson said: "There is nothing new to be discovered in physics now." (Sometimes attributed to Kelvin). I think that will keep happening, even after they get a Theory of Everything. Then it will turn out not to be quite right.

My gut feeling is that it's going to be some form of quantum mechanics... with current theories being simply ways to describe emergent phenomena due to the principles of quantum mechanics.

I don't think time exists, either, the past is simply a prior state of universe.

They keep trying to shove 8 equations and 26-32 constance into one very simple equations. not happened yet. And even when it does, it will still need to be proven by experimentation to make it offical

Here is what I think...... Physicists will keep looking.... The greatest incentive is to merge the physics of large stuff (stars, galaxies) with the small (particles) in the hopes that may shed some light behind the first 300 nano seconds after the big bang, where all equations break. No one said it would be easy, I am sure the Physicists community understands very well what they are up against.

I think the best they can do are ‘theories,’ as establishing proof at the quantum level is currently beyond our capability. I also think there are some mathematical theories that equate to an ‘answer,’ for everything … but the proof remains elusive..
