The world has tried protectionism and it's been devastating historically, even triggering a world-wide depression.

But don't tell dumb-Donald, he rejects history or facts.

Yea, but Trump didn't start screwing farmers alone. It's been an agenda since Clinton gave us NAFTA. Farming then became a socialist program at the expense of the American people. And every small farmer in every country our trade agreements have touched also has killed them. Farming is almost always the first victim of trade deals.

Evidently, he's going to try to get billions of $$ in subsidies for them. He may have a little blowback on that. Doesn't surprise me that he would try, though.
