The question is more complex. Life is not predetermined unless you do not have the capacity for authentic thought. It is not governed by genetics unless our Gene's themselves are relating to our world and they have the experience to think and perceive the world. Totally random would mean that we could experience something while doing something else. What does random mean--going from one act to another without the meaning of either being connected. We are subject to free will however this does not mean that we perform at all times in compliance with it.
