Christopher Hitchins claims in his book God Is Not Great that Stalin's Russia was superimposed on the Greek Orthodox doctrines of his time. Sam Harris repeated this idea recently at a conference in Dublin. I haven't got or read the book and haven't found the relevant information online. The only information I've read so far is here:


Dunning makes a very valid point. I actually tend to agree with him.
