I will begin piecing together my memoir tonight. it is the most difficult thing that i have ever done, becoming whole.

I eventually wrote one for the first 33⅓ years of my life. I think it was a useful exercise. Family members who read it found it a bit too verbose, I think. There was an important chapter about my loss of religious faith.

Writing can be cathartic and if not ... it can be helpful.

My life isn't, to anyone but me, that terribly interesting, and that's information, too ... puts things in perspective.

Do it. It is worth it. I wrote a couple chapters of mine last fall, and outlined a lot else. It helped me a lot to understand better who I am and why I think the way I do. Maybe someday I'll get back to it.
