I signed up for a bowling league yesterday and something occurred to me. When you are with a group of people in a social context is it still the norm that women in that group will try to set up any single male in the same group? "She's perfect for you, you have to meet her." Or am I getting my hopes too high too quick?

Most of the "set-ups" I have been subject to were a total bust. Some of the choices my friends try to make for me cause me to wonder how well they actually know me.
