I've always thought it was strange that minorites could be so ardently religious when history proves that their faith is a result of terrorist-level subjugation and oppression.

Exactly what I was going to say

Strange but true.

Agreed, but this Islam fact does not deter from my original point.

I'm talking out of my lily-white ass, but
part of the problem, I think, is how thoroughly Xtians indoctrinate people, and how they doubled down on said indoctrination when it came to minorities.

I agree. Always wondered why almost all blacks were some sect of christian, when it was the christians who created and sold them into and attempted to maintain slavery. Christianity has not civilized humanity. A good book on this is "God is Red" by Vine Deloria, a native American

It's exactly the reduced status and prosperity that comes with being a second class citizen that draws them toward religion. Hope where you can find it. And the fact that l the religion of choice is that of the oppressor is just a matter of prominence; it's most often as simple as it's the one that's there. There are exceptions of course, such as the Nation of Islam, but honestly that was just one exploiter stepping in to "address" the grievances caused by the other.

Atheist, I’ve often felt a minority.. with nowhere to turn 😕
