Here in my home town they have built what I hear is the worlds largest wooden structure and call it "The Ark Encounter". I hope it is a success for the sake of the local economy but it is a struggle for me to keep my mouth shut when I read some of my friends comments on Facebook because I too was subjected to the same inculcation as a impressionable child and young adult. This all adds to an already intense loneliness.

That's rough, Do you go to any of the protests?

I would never protest things like this. It is their time and money and if this is the way that they want to spend it and if it makes them happy in some superficial way, it is not for me to judge. I hope they never protest something that I find to be important.

There are several YouTube videos talking about what a huge failure that attraction is, and how it is not getting the attendance projected by Ken Hamm, the guy whose idea the whole thing was. It was supposed to produce a huge tax benefit for the surrounding county also, but allegedly has failed miserably.
