Though on reflection what I want to say isn't in line with the quote exactly, but it picks my pocket when they use my tax dollars to repair churches after natural disasters or even just to put out a fire in one. But that's not quite the point TJ was making because as long as no one acts upon their gods' will then it does no harm to claim the divine exists... but I think psychology shows that the influence of an idea is as bad as the action itself once the action is taken. You can contemplate murder and never kill, but once you do, aren't the murderous thoughts the problem?

If a Church takes tax dollars they give up some of their religious freedom. For example a church could not discriminate, and would have to hire a gay or transgender. I think I've had murderous thoughts before, and I don't remember any problems. I am glad I didn't murder. I appreciate your thoughts. You always make me think.
@Leutrelle, there is the indirect means by which they take the tax dollars. Though I can't be 100% I'm sure if even the Westboro church were on fire, the firefighters would try to put it out an they're paid(if they're not volunteers) from local tax funds.
Honestly I don't care what people believe in so long as we're not making decisions base don how it might influence the Unicorn population... Once people start enacting on their intangible beliefs towards any ends it's a problem.
@DreadlySmart Aw Dreadly you are right once again. It is really a minor issue. I personally think Xian religion is on a down hill slide. They go after the youth, but the youth grow wise
