Any Sam Harris fans?
Wow, I was expecting a bunch of hate. I don't agree with everything he says, but I've read all of his works except his one with Maajid Nawaz, and on the whole, I think if his philosophies were shared by more people, we'd on the whole be more compassionate and more nuanced. I hear some liberals who don't like him talk, and I'm like "that's the way you view people? And you think Sam Harris is immoral?" Greatly misunderstood.
One of the more interesting intellectuals on planet Earth, that one.
I've read "Letter to a Christian Nation", "Islam and the Future of Tolerance", "Free Will" and "The End of Faith" and watched many debates and talks. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of him was his confrontation with Ben Affleck on Bill Maher's show. I gained even more respect for Harris and lost the same amount for Affleck.
Absolutely. I think Affleck is a d--k. He's all packaging and no product.
I especially like his theories about free will.
Do you have a link to that?

Huge, enormous, admirer of SH, his books, pods and debates, along with Dawkins an co. To my mind he has one of the most forensically devastating debating styles of anything I have ever seen. He cuts through to the central key point in any debate point and just often leaves religionists floundering. I find the personal attacks on him - that he's racist, bigoted, etc - to be absurd. They fear his arguments so they attack the man. My favourite work of his is Letter to a Christian Nation.
Well said!
Me. Have you read "Waking Up". The idea that we are all compromised of multiple consciousnesses is a trip.
I have not read it. I will though!
He’s brilliant! I love his podcast, Waking Up.
