A year ago to this day, Aug 31, I walked in to my place of work of 31 years for one last time. Signed the agreement and I was out the door with no bagde and no job. Little did I know on that day (Do I need to explain how broken was I?), life will offer incredible opportunities, all I had to do was push the reset button and knock on every door I could find. If you have or will get laid off, don't despair and focus in your goals. There are good jobs out there but you have to go fight for them. Happy anniversary to my previous life where I spent the best years of my life and thankful for the new job that picked me up when I was down. Life goes on

I was laid off 10 years ago, and honestly still feel like I'm trying to get "back on my feet". Life is hard. Ugh.

Yes it is but you have to do the heavy lifting, no one will do that for you. You gotta keep trying. Best of luck

fired once from a "right to work job" I guess this job is the same but they like me and tell me they appreciate me. I am a contract worker now but they want me to come on board

That's good !! I am a contractor too and probably too old for the company to want me on board. It's ok with me, I just want to have a job.
