Please let me get this off my chest. Been on a “Don’t Waste!” Mindset lately. (Photo of half eaten food in the trash)
It really pains me to see things taking for granted.
Starving & malnourished people; not just overseas, but here in the US. Yet, I see everyday people throwing away food & supplies, that other people would be absolutely grateful to have. Am I in the wrong to be upset about this?

People going hungry is abominable and there are so many ways this could be avoided or mitigated. If I get full, I stop eating. I do however save the uneaten food for the next time I get hungry whenever possible.

I'm more upset by restaurants that throw away good food everyday.. Like buffets or wrong orders. There's a restaurant in Austin called Veggie Heaven that gives wrong orders to the homeless. They just come in and grab a box of food and leave. Love that place.

I love the who idea of this. If every restaurant did this so many hungry people could be fed!

There's a charity in NYC called City Harvest -- they pick up surplus food from restaurants and grocery stores that would otherwise be thrown away because it's not "perfect" and bring it to soup kitchens and other outreach places that serve the poor and homeless.
