Saturday, my daughter and her partner celebrated their legal nc marriage and the upcoming birth of their first child. They had no church wedding but a small 60 person gathering of family, neighbors, relatives and colleagues. I think they were a bit anxious about how this would be received, but I think they were both truly touched by an outpouring of support. One of the things that made me the happiest was that some of the invitees were fairly conservative, but I felt the same outpouring of support.

Making a big production of a wedding is more of a tradition for those who think it is important to impress others with your importance. I think the close gathering of those you care about is a more meaning way to go about it.

Congrats on the new family members.

Congratulations to them and to you, Grandpa!

Very cool!

Boy that's going to take a while to get used to. My daughter asked me what I wanted my grandson to call me. I said big wave dave. That's not happening .
