Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.I think this premise is mostly correct, the primary resistance to gender equality (and other forms of equality, really) is religion and religious faith. There is no justification for inequality of any kind outside of "god commands it". Even in the parts of religion that aren't big on divine command theory, the traditional gender roles are still based in patriarchy that comes ultimately from the Abrahamic faiths.

Have lived with the double standard all my life . Knew about previous laws , prejudiciouses , dual standards , and outright abuses against women from history . If men were able to stand on their own two feet , without the need to stack the deck against women , I'd be able to respect them more .
