Schools have been a good alternative.

I'd prefer they use nondenominational churches if they use churches at all.

Much better than not having a polling place?!

I'm fairly certain there are far better options. My polling place used to be in a junior High School, and then they changed it to a church.

@Ashenshard when they used the schools, the schools were closed to the kids for the day (strangers wandering around,). A church is just a big building with plenty of parking, bathrooms, and a handicapped ramp....there is no mystical significance to a Building!

I've never heard of a school being closed, maybe a room or a hallway. No reason to close the entire school.

@Ashenshard in CT many of the schools are comp lately closed, and I agree with that policy when i see how easy it would be to go anywhere in the building after getting through the doors to the auditorium.

Another wonderful example of our separation of church and state... Not!

Better use than using them to worship a nonexistent god!
