I doubt that any relationship lacks sticking-points where a partner is triggered by something or has trust issues that have nothing to do with you, but which are nevertheless difficult and/or disappointing at times. These need not be fatal to a relationship, but as others have pointed out, if it's chronic then it does kind of defeat the purpose.

This is the basic foundation of any relationship. If you don't have this, you don't have anything good to begin with. Period.
