I’d also add to the list:

  • not giving cutesy names to genitalia. That is so annoying. Teach your kid the true anatomical names so they aren’t ashamed of them.
  • censoring your language. Exposing them to how to use language appropriately makes it normal for them.
  • not abiding by age-appropriate things. The more exposure they have the more opportunities you have to educate them on it.

These are my humble opinions, obviously. Let me know what you think!

I agree in principle, but I dislike hearing youngies swear. I think children should be encouraged to make an emphatic argument without having to swear. I was clearly very good at this as my 22 year old runs rings round me in a discussion to the point where I say, "oh shut up Isaac!"
