Not even sure where to post this but, is there such a thing as a militant atheist and if so, would you consider yourself one of them? What constitutes that description/label? Is it needed in this day and age?

We must always be careful to preserve the rights of others to believe as they wish!

I’m not a militant atheist and I don’t approve of those people as much as those militant christians. It’s up to people to find thier own path, not to have it beaten into them.. it will only create resentment in the future.

Militant atheist? Militant is defined as "combative and aggressive in support of a political or social cause, and typically favoring extreme, violent, or confrontational methods."

Militant atheist has a wide spectrum of definitions. None of the popular definitions include "extreme violent" Militant Atheist appears to be little more then a propaganda position from the (loving) Theists to vilify anyone who does not believe in their invisible sky daddy.

I am an outspoken defender of science (based on facts) over faith (belief without evidence). Does this make me a militant atheist?

By the same standards that Christians find "Truth" (things that are demonstrated with evidence to be factual) can for them be found using faith (things believed without evidence). 😟
