Wondering how deeply the chaos in the USA, mostly advanced by far right republicans, is going to damage us, here in Canada..

Is Canada that dependent on the United States that we must engineer a chaos meter designed to tell us of impending doom on any nation in relation to the United States. If Canada can not figure out how to thrive in today's complex globalism they should replace their incompetent leaders.

Because leadership can redirect nuclear fallout, or over polluted rivers, or toxic airflow, right?!?

Sorry. Truly, truly sorry. I dated a guy from Edmonton when I was in grad school. He turned out to be an asshole, but the way things are going around here I kind of wish I'd married him so I'd have an easy way into your great country.

I would suggest building a really big wall and I'm from here. Sheesh!

Canada is a land of tolerant people. Nothing is going to damage your reputation. People here in India have a high opinion about Canada. However, ever since Trump came to power, people look upon the US as a country of chaos.

It's ok to call us a shithole country now. We qualify, but we still have decent people trying to do what's right.

I realize a lot of people think Canada is full of "tolerant" people but I do not believe that. Just like this post, the poster is wondering how bad my country is hurting his. This is not the only post about how great Canada is compared to the United States on this site.

@MarkF why does that bother you? People in the US also express high levels of patriotism and us/them thinking. It's human nature. I would argue that Americans have an over-inflated sense of this country's "greatness."

@MarkF I can’t do anything at all to help your people, if I could I would. But I have to recognise, based on a 2500+km border, that what hurts you folks, is going to hurt us. There is no buffering country or ocean to protect us from your impending disasters.

@MarkF I will never downplay my own countries foolishness, and we do seem to be trending towards the far right, in certain regions, at least, and it scares me. Our far left doesn’t help, with their over sensitive reaction to every fucking sour look, or non PC comment ever made.

Stay vigilant. Don't let this happen in your great country.

I worry about that as well. Hate tends to permeate pretty easily as you have seen over the past two years. Behavior from what once was an office to be looked up to is now a worldwide joke. Our PM has to dumb down to communicate with this clown. Ultimately with trade Canada is in a strong position and needs to hold firm to the bully.

Did you really write, " Ultimately with trade Canada is in a strong position and needs to hold firm to the bully." I am surprised you don't bring up the dairy farmers you know, quit crying over spilled milk. Its too funny, for all those years of hiding behind Lady Liberty's dress now you Canadians want to act all tough. You should go make friends with some other country maybe they will let you take advantage of them as you flash that fake smile.
