Most true Christain’s are very conservative and also very anti abortion and mostly pro gun. Trump has figured out that the conservatives can’t win without the support of the religous right so he caters to them. I am very conservative and would likely side with the Religous right on more issues than the left wing liberals.

In the UK, it is entirely opposite and staunch Christianity is more commonly associated with the left.
