Doesn't this explain the lack of progress being made in religious and/or political discussions / arguments? I heard Dr Phil talking about it on The View today? Thoughts?

I think alot of us are doing this type of thing, how world is very controversial with what one or the other beileves

I believe that's true, but not the only part. Indoctrination of the young, starting as an infant all the way through 18 years is a huge hurdle to overcome also. Last reason might be that you have to have enough intellectual horsepower to even attempt something like a total refutation of all earlier held beliefs.

That's a very interesting theory of how people look at the world. However, there are exceptions to every theory or way people look at stuff.

That’s a big part of it. But probably not the whole explanation. Another part is the story of how they came to those “preexisting” beliefs to start with.
