I'm Australian so you won't want my answers but I am very interested in hearing your results. I'd be very interested to know how many people vote opposite to how they were raised. My parents were very right wing but as I grew up, became educated, I switched to left wing because of its humanist leanings.

@SeptemberRain Yes. For the life of me I can't understand why followers of social rights advocate Jesus wouldn't want to vote democrat. There is this new wave of christianity however, that preaches that 'god wants to reward you". The idea is you give to the church and you will be rewarded (materialistically or monetarily) ten fold. I wonder if people look at Trump and think "he's rich. God has rewarded him. God likes him so he must be good" kind of logic. What do you think about that?

Are you interested in Canadian input?

@SeptemberRain Canada has two primary political parties that seem to dominate much like the US. Our Liberals (left of centre) are much like Democrats, and the Conservatives are right or Republican leaning. A third political party called the NDP (New Democratic Party) are considered far left or socialist.

If I were American, I would be moderate democrat, as my father and mother were.

My wife would have been considered moderate Republican due to her parents leanings.

I was born and raised in the ethnically diverse city of Toronto (urban)
