Not sure why, but I get sleepy in the afternoon. It could be that my doctor needs to change my thyroid meds, or it could be the weather (cold and rainy), or it could be my lack of exercise (and intake of high-carb snacks). Whatever the reason, the sleepiness affects my productivity. I teach music in the pm and so I have to be ON from 4:30 until 9:30pm.

What do you do to stay awake and focused when you have to (or when you're feeling sleepy or low energy)?

Whole cultures have been built around the afternoon nap/sista! Set an alarm, give in & enjoy!

I would go to a doctor and get some blood work done. There are too many things that could cause your symptoms.

I did last week. My thyroid is normal, as are all the other factors they tested. My blood pressure is really low 112/70 well low for me anyway. Over the summer I lost 17 pounds by exercising every day (hiking and cutting 4.5 acres of lawn with a push mower 🙂).

I'm thinking it's weather-related. I took a couple vitermints and felt better in 30 minutes

I used to get sleepy and now know that it's carbs that do that to me I feel much better on my no sugar no grains diet
