I am trying to write my Thanksgiving column, but it turning out to be about discrimination and hate-crimes. I need a better subject for my 750 words.
I have always been fascinated by the story of Squanto a member of the Patuxet tribe and his incredible life, especially how he help make the Pilgrims settlement in Plymouth MA viable.

Personally, I think you should pusue it. The whole Thanksgiving concept is a fucking travesty.
I herd a comedian talking about someone doing a piece about the 3rd Thanksgiving. It's an interesting twist because we usually commemorate the 1st one. Something about how the hosts were starting to realize that the guests weren't going home.. It was funny how he said it. Could be a way to talk about it differently though.
I guess I'd have a hard time writing about it without making it about genocide or immigration. I'm not much fun at parties ?
I think we focus on the negative a lot. Maybe you could write about successes in acceptance and how far we've come?
How. About creativity and art? Love of beauty and life. ? Being happy?
Why do we celebrate thanksgiving? i think i forgot.
Because white peoples immigration status is to be commemorated with gluttony while brown immigrants can do the hokey pokey and turn themselves around. Thats what its all about.
@Wurlitzer "...commemorated with gluttony" - I'm definitely gonna regift this. Hilarious.
