Primates should not be kept, it is almost impossible to give any primate a happy life in captive confinement.
I am not a great fan of animal rights on the whole, but I do think that we could at least extend a few of the more basic human rights to cover our nearest kin.
The photo is of course sentimental, but that is not always the same as untrue.
