I get really tired of hearing how our country is so far in debt, but the government refuses to tax churches! I am not picking on just one denomination, but any faith based "business".Does anyone have any opinions about this?
I'm not sure how much the taxes (if they were collected) would go to help our national debt, but by not taxing them like businesses it seems to me to be the government sanctioning a (or many) religions.
I am a clergy person (a minister of Spiritual Humanism) but I run my business of "ministering" to my couples and families from my home. I do not get a tax break. I do not have a "house of worship" so I pay my taxes like any other business. I do think churches should do the same.
