In your long history of ancestors there was a FIRST ONE. And regardless of its size or shape, it was able to reproduce. How could such self replicating organism come into existence by the mere laws of physics?
There’s no point responding to these attempts at injecting controversy, since they are not legitimate questions, but “posers” copied from religious screeds in which the clever and superior believer leaves the unbelievers dumbfounded and gasping at the weight of his “facts” and “logic”. Any response, no matter how well founded in fact and logic, will have no effect on the poster, since he has already decided that “magic” is the answer to every difficult question. It’s best just to let these trolls wither on the vine and hope they go away; they are not anenable to education.
It obviously did, and one day we may know how.
I'll tell you what the least likely explanation is, that a higher being (outside of time and space) who had always existed and always will and so definitely did not pop out of nothing, decided to create an inferior being out of nothing and dropped it in to a garden in the middle east with a talking snake and a woman made out of his rib and a tree they weren't allowed to eat from.
That may not be "mere laws of physics" but it definitely is "mere bullshit"
It's called evolution. Often slow and steady. Incremental change. And many occasional explosions.
Before evolution can become a factor, there must first be reproduction.
@LloydBrumbaugh yet again, the Dunning-Kruger Effect, an over simplification of the facts, try to understand the concept of "species" not grandparents
@LloydBrumbaugh . . .somehow, in the beginning, some molecules replicated. And it was good. And they did it again. But they did not replicate exactly. And then we were born.
Why did the first organisms start to live and reproduce? No one knows why for sure and I'm OK with that.
What we do know is enough to disprove any magical explanation I have been offered. The amount of time that it took to be what we are is so mind boggling that it doesn't seem unrealistic.
I assume you know that there was no "first human", only a gradual evolution from lower forms.
As to how the first life arose, we have somewhat testable hypotheses about those that haven't been proven or developed into a scientific theory as yet -- the leading one being abiogenesis. But the honest answer is that we don't know yet.
What we DO know is that an invisible sky wizard creating the universe is far less likely.
There doesn’t have to be a first one if you are talking about humans. We evolved gradually over the ages from lower life forms.
The question should be “how did the first living cell come to be”? Maybe it evolved from a self-replicating virus. The truth is that no one knows how life began.
We don’t actually know much of anything except superficially. Nature is one big mystery.
how do you know there was a first 'ONE' and how do you know if there was a first one that it didnt come into existence through a, as yet, undiscovered law of physics?
or maybe a god did it
either way its unlikely you'll ever know so why don't you get on with something more productive?
