I joined this online group because in my day to day life those that I tell that I’m an atheist love to tell me that I’m just a recovering Christian who will go back to the guy in the sky or just agnostic. There’s no way I could be one of those people. So I went underground and joined a couple amazing FB Atheist groups and have found comfort and freedom there. But locally it’s been tough to find secular/atheist clubs that I can meet people in person even for coffee would be nice. Does that kind of group exist?

I second the Meetup.Com recommendation. If there is one group in Knoxville TN, then there must be one in Maine you can join.

Maybe this will help: [meetup.com]

I keep forgetting to check that site out. Good reminder! I will do that.
