How does this not make sense?

"""
The difference between science and the fuzzy subjects is that science requires reasoning, while those other subjects merely require scholarship. Copulation is spiritual in essence--or it is merely friendly exercise.

On second thought, strike out “merely.” Copulation is not “merely”--even when it is just a happy pastime for two strangers. But copulation at its spiritual best is so much more than physical coupling that it is different in kind as well as in degree.

The saddest feature of homosexuality is not that it is “wrong” or “sinful” or even that it can’t lead to progeny--but that it is more difficult to reach through it this spiritual union. Not impossible--but the cards are stacked against it.

But most sorrowfully--many people never achieve spiritual sharing even with the help of male-female advantage; they are condemned to wander through life alone.

WTF did Heinlein know about the difficulty or ease of reaching "spiritual union" (whatever the hell that is) for homosexuals vs heterosexuals?

Supposing for the argument there is such a thing as this mystic "spiritual union" -- if it's so transcendently "spiritual" then why is it so dependent on a particular form of physical congress for its realization? What is this imagined "male / female advantage"?

To my mind, two people attempting that level of intimacy have one main obstacle to their objective: that they are both people. And all people suck sometimes.

Yeah right. WTF could a man who lived during the middle of last century know about anything?

Sorry i posted something so disturbing to you.

Much as I love a good debate and the fine and beautiful use of language to make and prove a point, sometimes on rare occasions one simple has to say

FUCK THE FUCKING FUCK OFF YOU FUCKING FUCKWIT OF A DILDO BRAINED WANKER.

this I believe to be one of those times

I think I'm going to save this post in the Hall of Classics.

Historical language needs to be understood given the context. Otherwise we completly miss the point, and results in typing in ALL CAPS.

Let's put the philosophy book aside on the night table, my friend. Copulation, making love, spiritual sharing or whatever, is enjoyed by most of us, depending on what you are looking for. And I don't think it is the only exit door from loneliness: what about family, friends, community activities, arts, sports, creativity, studies?

These quotes obviously do not cover all of human's concerns. But I find many of Heinlein's "intermission" comments to still be relevant.
