I won't say publicly, because he might be somebody else's cup of tea. I didn't feel threatened, just creeped out, and he might not be considered creepy in someone else's opinion. I won't be unnecessarily vindictive.

Who cares if he might be someone else's cup of tea? He creeped you out. I'm willing to bet that there are more female members who would be far more likely to want that information, than there would be who would welcome that kind of approach.
I'm so sick of women trying to be "nice" about this bullshit.
It's the biggest reason why men have been able to get away with it for as long as they have.

Not really. He went from a somewhat uninteresting personal message plateau for days to suddenly very descriptive, and not in a good way, in just minutes. Set off all the alarms.
