I agree that the founding fathers didnt mold us to be a christian nation fundamentally through government, but this mistakenly leads many to claim that we don't have a christian culture here. In the bible belt, Appalachia and seemingly throughout the midwest and small towns of most every state we undoubedly still have a very puritanical culture and work ethic, even in most blue states as far as I can tell. My own state's culture is so religious that by law I can't run for office as an atheist.

Obviously not by design, but damn our culture surenuff is still pretending to be way too christian for comfort.

Your state law is unconstitutional. That would be an unpopular lawsuit I bet.

@Rob1948 it would be unpopular for me, yes. Its a very popular opinion that an atheist shouldnt hold office around here. But yeah unconstitutional to the 9s it just wouldnt be worth fighting. Id expect nothing to result for my end except death threats and vandalism.

Yes, I think you are right about what would happen to anyone who tried to make the legal fight.
