But seriously though with the money we spend trillions on less than perfect functioning aircraft and the military’s of foreign countries we should be able to pay our troops a living wage.

First let's hope your opening statement is sarcasm and not a full lack of knowledge like so many others. The largest percentage of welfare and food stamp recipients are rural whites. The two largest areas receiving aid are in Appalachia and the Ozarks.
