There is no greater feeling of fear and hopelessness than your first born child, 16 years old, missing curfew and not answering his phone. (He's never broken curfew before. He's one of those "good kids" you hear about.) For the last hour and a half I've been texting and calling him... he finally picked up; he fell asleep at his gf house. At his age, he has a state imposed curfew of 1am so he's staying there.

This momma's heart was going nuts, I can finally go back to sleep. ❤

Being a parent is not always fun and will never be flawless. I can tell. My son, 34 doesn't want to have contact anymore because he is blaming me for ruining his life, without willing to tell me why. I should know because it was on purpose. He was such a good kid. I wish I knew. Being a parent you make mistakes, but it is always good to know what mistakes, because than you can learn from them.

What a relief... When he gets home, whoop his ass...

Happy to hear he is safe. I hope you feel better and I owe my mother and apology. Sorry mom. I love you.

@pepperjones if only all moms could be so understanding as you ladies...

I have no clue about sons. ...could be worse than my 2 daughters 43&24

This EXACT thing happened with my 16 year old daughter a few weeks ago! Except she never answered the phone, I drove to her boyfriends and woke her ass up 😂

My 2nd daughter began sleeping over @ 15 with her prom date SENIOR 17 Kenny. ...her mom went nuts over it. ....skip to happy ending they have never stopped falling in love now 24&26 happily married and babysitting their depressed neurotic "ma" my ex of 14 years....I approved because Kenny's dad is a guidance counselor and mom a teacher so the basement teen quarters were pretty safe for a smart beautiful powerful self emancipating child of mine. ...

That sounds like me when I was that age. My daughter is so much better of a person than I was. She had just fallen asleep on the couch watching movies. There were several kids over there. She claims to have set an alarm which someone else turned off, and her friends are mostly awful so I don’t doubt it.

Damn right. You should have dressed in leather and embarrassed her.

I'm glad to hear everything is okay. As a father of two adult children, I know how harrowing that can be, but it's usually a harmless mistake.

What's really scary though is years later when they tell you about all the shit they did that you weren't aware of.

I am the same way. My son is 20 but no response makes me nervous.

@pepperjones I still sing "her" song to my self the same since she was born every time I could until she was 4, helped her mom and made Darrow the greatest sweetest nicest baby of Election Day 1994. ...: " GIMA GIMA GI HIHI MA GIMA GI MAHA GIMA this is your song ....." Ruth was born Ebolowa, CAMEROUN, 1953, Darrow University of Iowa 1994
