I have always been a big Mark Knopfler/Dire Straights fan. I have been listening to different versions of Sultans of Swing for a few days now and am mesmerized by each and every one. This video is poorly titled but Mark Knopfler is definitely one of my favorite guitarists and I can listen to this all day.

Very sweet. Thank you. It strikes me that this was pretty near their break up and it looked very much like Knopfler was enjoying playing with them along with being aware it was about to stop. Mark is also one of my favorite artists.

Best guitar solo? Hmmm, that's very subjective. That said, Knopfler is among the best, to be sure. I've never heard this version before, thanks for posting.

Have you heard the album he did with Emmylou Harris (All the Road Running)? Here is a link to a full concert they did a few years back. One of the comments has the list of songs (7 from their album and 10 from their individual past). They make a very good combination.

Mark Knopfler is my favorite guitarist. This tune evolved over time and I’ve enjoyed the different renditions over time, too.
